Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-08-05
Buena Games is the game studio of Buena Labs Inc. ("we", "our", "us"). This policy explains what data we collect through the buenagames.io website and through games published by Buena Games, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over it.
Where we are today. Buena Games has no titles published yet. The website sections below describe what happens right now. The game sections describe what will apply when a game ships; each game additionally publishes its own privacy disclosures on its store listing — Apple's App Privacy card and Google Play's Data safety section — and those are specific to that game.
1. Data We Collect on This Website
This website runs no analytics, no advertising tags, and no third-party trackers. We set no
cookies. Your theme preference (dark, light, or system) is stored in your browser's
localStorage and never leaves your device.
Our hosting provider processes standard server request data — IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamp — to serve the site and defend it against abuse. We do not use that data to build a profile of you.
2. Data Our Games Collect
When a Buena Games title ships, it may collect the following. Each game's store listing states which of these apply to it.
- Crash and diagnostic reports — device model, OS version, and the state of the game when it failed, so we can fix it.
- Gameplay and product analytics — aggregated, and used to understand which features get used and where players get stuck.
- Purchase records — the store confirms a purchase to us so we can unlock what you bought. We never receive your full payment card details; Apple and Google process payment.
- Account information — only if a game offers an account. Where we support Sign in with Apple, we receive an opaque identifier and, at your choice, a relay email address.
- Support correspondence — the contents of emails you send us, kept so we can answer and follow up.
3. How We Use Your Data
- To operate, deliver, and fix the games and this website
- To honour purchases and restore entitlements across your devices
- To answer support requests and privacy requests
- To detect, prevent, and investigate fraud, cheating, and abuse
- To meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
4. Third-Party Processors
We use a small number of vendors to run the service. Each is bound by contract to process data only on our instructions: our website host and CDN, our email provider, the crash-reporting and analytics vendors used by a given game, and Apple and Google as payment processors and distributors. Each game's store listing names the SDKs that game embeds.
5. Your Rights
GDPR (European Economic Area, UK, Switzerland)
You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, and object to the processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
CCPA/CPRA (California)
You have the right to know what personal information we collect, to delete it, to correct it, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
How to Exercise Your Rights
Email privacy@buenalabs.io from the address tied to your data, or use our Data Deletion page. We acknowledge requests within 72 hours and respond within 30 days. We may ask for information to verify the request, and we use that information only for verification.
6. Data Security
Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest by our infrastructure providers. Access to production data is limited to the people who need it to do their jobs. No system is perfectly secure, and we do not claim otherwise — if a breach affects your data, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as the law requires.
7. Data Retention
- Crash reports: 30 days
- Analytics: anonymised within 90 days
- Account data: for as long as the account exists, then deleted on request per our Data Deletion policy
- Support email: 24 months
- Billing and tax records: 7 years, as required by law
8. Children's Privacy
Our games carry age ratings on their store listings. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country) without verifiable parental consent. Titles directed at children are designed to comply with COPPA, Google Play's Families policy, and Apple's Kids Category requirements, including no behavioural advertising.
If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, email privacy@buenalabs.io and we will delete it promptly.
9. International Data Transfers
Buena Labs Inc. is registered in the United States (Delaware). Your data may be processed in the United States and in other countries where our processors operate. For transfers from the EEA, UK, or Switzerland we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses and our processors' own approved transfer mechanisms.
10. Changes to This Policy
We will update this page when our practices change and revise the "last updated" date above. If a change materially affects your rights, we will give notice in the affected game or by email before it takes effect.
